Just outside of Port Alberni, Vancouver Island a beautiful roadside creek meanders through the temperate rainforest. The old remnant of a giant red cedar that has succumbed to the pressures of the logging industry slowly erodes away in the background.
My first night in the desert, I was captivated by how dark the skies were. There seemed to be twice as many stars as I have become accustomed to. That was quite a shock considering I live on the edge of the Rocky Mountains. In this image, a lone Joshua tree stands against the vibrant Milky Way.
This is by far, the most popular location I have ever shot. Multnomah Falls is located in the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon. This is a popular destination for tourist and for good reason. It is a short drive from Portland and it is gorgeous. I took this photo at about 6:30 am and had the place to myself. After taking this picture I moved on in search of a more solitude once the flood of people started to flow in.
