I was given permission from my wife to head up on a mini road trip up to Jasper, Alberta. I took full advantage of this opportunity. This shot was not planned at all. I was driving along highway 93 heading towards the Columbia ice fields and this image just popped right out at me.
Shaun enjoys the view of the valley below in a short lived break in the fog on a dismal day hiking in the Highwood pass in Alberta's Kananaskis Country.
Over the years, I have developed a tremendous appreciation and now cherish the countless hours I have spent driving the countryside in the early hours of the morning. The air is fresh, animals are at their most active and the atmosphere is so quiet. This photograph is a prime example of why I love mornings.
