The temperate rainforests of Vancouver Island are some of the most stunning woodlands North America has to offer. As darkness falls, they take on an eerie feeling, reminiscent of what you would expect to see in a horror movie.
I took this image with an older crop sensor camera and a kit lens that eventually was stolen. I had this raw file on my computer for quite some time. Eventually I decided to browse through my old images and found this shot from an area north of Vancouver. Immediately this became one of my favourite shots because it confirmed to me that you don't need fancy gear to get great quality.
