I find the ugliest, creepy critters fascinate me for some reason. I don't know why, but they do. I would feel safe to say this creepy crawler of the night fits that bill even though it is harmless.
A Desert Blonde tarantula roams near its burrow in the Sonoran Desert in Arizona. As a nocturnal species, they rarely are seen in sunlight except during mating season in the fall or after a rainfall, which was the case for this encounter.
In Alberta, when the mercury plummets in the winter months ice crystals that fill the air cling to every square inch of the landscape commonly known as hoar frost. This hoar frost often builds up to an inch thick and will cover trees from top to bottom and virtually everything else exposed to the elements right down to the wires on a barbwire fence. During these conditions, the landscape becomes a winter wonderland.
