While on a road trip through Oregon, I took a detour from my planned route to hike a trail that seemed to look like it may have had some potential based my research on Google maps. During the drive into this creek, I could tell I made the right call. As I left the coast, the forest became lush and green with moss covering everything in sight. The best part was pulling into the parking area and not having another car in sight. As my daughter and I hiked the fern covered trail paralleling the creek, I found it near impossible to walk more than ten feet without wanting to pull my camera out and take more pictures (which I did). The only sound to be heard was the occasional hoot of a nearby owl. This trail was my paradise. The next time I travel through Oregon, I will be sure to allot more time to exploring the network of creeks and waterfalls that flow through this rainforest.
